The use of colour makes the message stand out even before reading the actual article. Also the image that is being used is in colours, however the colours chosen are quite dark, such as blue and brown, which represents the imagine in a sad and depressing light. On the other hand, the child in the middle is wearing a bright yellow jacket, which stands out and suggests the happiness of the image, even though they are living in a bad area, everyone is connected and happy together, the colour yellow could also suggest hope and something to look forward to. Moreover, the use of mixed colours could represent mixed emotions and unsure thoughts. The title of the article is in large bold red letters, which again stands out and draws readers attention. It also allows the reader to know the topic of the article, before even reading it. The purpose of the article is something bad, which is clearly shown through the use of colour, such as red, which connotes bad things, angry and blood.
